how did i get into the wedding planning business?

To be honest, I worked really, really hard! I've always had a knack for event planning, a genuine love for people and have thrived in a fast-paced environment. Little did I know that all of these things would collide into my dream job.

Ryan and I lived in Tennessee for awhile where I worked with a wedding company that allowed me to see all the ins and outs of wedding trade shows, wedding magazines, wedding blogs and so much more.

I realized within that job that wedding planning was something I wanted to make a career out of. So, I began toiling with the idea of owning my own wedding planning business and Ryan was (and still is) 110% supportive. With lots of encouragement from Ryan, gigantic cups of black coffee and hard work, you're now here visiting my website.

So, I guess, you can say the rest is history.

I am a certified International Wedding and Event Planner. I worked diligently to earn my certification, yet I don't let my education stop there! I am constantly reading up on the latest trends, brainstorming better ways to serve you and always in search of wedding inspiration.

I also have a great mentor! I'm an assistant planner to Meredith Events located in Rogers, Arkansas.

do i really need a
wedding planner?

A wedding planner is crucial if you don't want to stress about making sure all the little details are taken care of the day of your wedding.

With expert knowledge of all things weddings, a wedding planner can provide you sound advice and be a mediator in case calamity strikes. And, more than likely, you won't even know if something happens (until after it's taken care of) because of a wedding planner!

No matter how Type A you are, I definitely recommend at least a day-of coordinator.

is planning a wedding really as stressful as it sound?

This can be a tricky question. Planning a wedding can definitely be stressful when you map out everything that needs to be accomplished before you make it to the altar. But note, your engagement and wedding planning time should bring more joys than stress. So, if you know you're prone to anxiety and stress or are just an extremely busy person, I definitely recommend a wedding planner.

And, it's probably no shocker that I HIGHLY recommend a wedding planner for at least the month-of your wedding.

Why? Your nerves and stress levels are going to be through the rood during your wedding week trying to finalize everything and every one. A professional wedding planner can help deteriorate your nerves and calm your fears by taking care of all those little details that sneak up on you so you can be fully pampered the week of your big day. Sounds like a good deal, right?

aren't
wedding planners expensive?

This is not a "yes" or "no" question. The cost for a wedding planner can range from $500 to $5,000 (sometimes the cost can even be greeter). This cost is dependent on the services you're needing and the length of your wedding celebration. My best advice is to research the wedding planners you're interested in and meet with them in person or talk with them over the phone. After all, you'll be spending lots of time with your planner. You'll want your personalities to mesh.

who/what is meredith events?

That is a great question! Here's the long story answer...

You may have noticed that some of my weddings featured are planned under Meredith Events. Meredith Events is owned by Meredith Corning, my wedding mentor and dear friend.

I wouldn't be where I am without Meredith. When I began toiling with my own wedding planning business, she welcomed me to the wedding scene with open arms offering advice, encouragement and even allowed me to shadow her at some of her weddings.

Now, when she receives an inquiry and is already booked for the date, she'll hire me as an independent contractor under Meredith Events.

Seriously, Meredith is the bomb and I love getting to assist her whenever I can!
